DIN 46228-4 is the standard for wire end sleeves
For a high-quality crimp, correct forming and correct hardness of the sleeve is essential. For this reason, DIN 46228-4 was amended in March 2020 and a maximum hardness of 105 HV (Vickers hardness) was added to the standard. Phoenix sleeves had already met this criterion before the change.
Why not crimp by hand?
A standard manual crimping process takes on average eight seconds. The Crimphandy from Phoenix Contact can do this in just two seconds and always with the same, best quality crimps. The time saved by the device is enormous and avoiding errors is made easy by the automatic self-monitoring of the device.
Further advantages of this crimping tool
The Crimphandy is equipped with a powerful lithium-ion polymer battery that can be changed quickly. Up to 2000 crimping cycles are possible with one battery charge. The integrated magazine has space for 50 wire end sleeves in strip form, allowing work to be carried out without constant interruption. The cable remains resulting from stripping are collected in an extra container so that the switch cabinet or working environment remains clear.
The tool is suitable for one cross-section each and is available for the sizes 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 1.5 mm².
